The Numbers

Yesterday, G-III Apparel Group announced earnings after the close that beat analyst earnings expectations for their fiscal Q1 2015 report. While you may not know the name G-III apparel, let me name a few names that you likely know that you may better understand just who this company is, who they  own, and how important they are to the apparel industry. Calvin Klein, Dockers, Levi’s, Nine West, Tommy Hilfiger and many more. Ok, now you know this company, right? I thought you might.

G-III beat across the board on earnings and revenue guidance by a hefty percentage amount.. G-III reported its first-quarter earnings surged to $6.8 million from $1.1 million a year ago. On a per share basis, the company earned 15 cents a share, ahead of 7 cents a share forecast by analysts. Revenue also grew to $433 million from $366.2 million. G-III also raised its 2016 earnings-per-share forecast to a range of $2.66 to $2.76 versus $2.53 to $2.63. The stock traded up $1.92 or 3.3% in regular trading during Tuesday, June 2nd and its soared an additional 7.06% to $64.33 in heavy trading in the after market.

It has risen an unbelievable 400% from roughly $15 to $60, despite a fledgling economy, unemployment and recession thru-out many of these years. Note the green upward slanting trend line which has not been violated in years; an indicator of strong growth and earnings performance.
