DATA Technical Analysis

DATA Chart

DATA gapped down in price on Friday to $43.86, down from the prior day’s close of $81.75, which is a 46% decrease in price. Taking a look at the daily chart we can see that we are in unchartered territory as DATA is trading at all time lows. Taking a closer look at the daily chart we can see that DATA has been in overall decline dating back to July 23rd when it traded at its 52 week high price of $131.34. DATA has a float of 51.98 million shares and is trading over 15 times the normal daily trading volume. DATA reached pre market lows of $43.08, but bounced back $0.78 at the open, or equivalent to 2%. For trading purposes, my entry point short would have been $43.75 looking for a run down to $40. My stop loss would have been $44.25, fearing anything above that and the stock would start to fill in the gap down.
