2015 Looks to be a Strong Year
Shares of ULTA Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance ($ULTA) closed at $152.13 today. The stock has been consolidating under it’s year to year highs (52 week highs) since hitting all time highs on April 24th, 2015, when it hit highs just under $160 at $158.97. From a technical perspective ULTA appears to be poised for a breakout to the upside, and from a fundamental perspective, ULTA is an extremely strong company in it’s sector. Last month Jim Cramer of CNBC mentioned that ULTA Salon has of the best retail models. The company announced their forth quarter earnings and revenue on March 12th, 2015. Mary Dillon, CEO, said that “ULTA Beauty wrapped up a very strong year of sales and profit growth with an excellent fourth quarter, which we are proud to celebrate as our first billion dollar sales quarter”. Their net sales increased by over 20% year to year from the 4th quarter in 2013 and during that period the company also opened 10 new stores and closed one store. They currently have just under 774 active stores in the United States
Partnership with John Masters Organics
On March 30th, 2015 ULTA Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance announced a partnership with John Masters Organics. With ULTA as one of the largest retailers and distributors of beauty products, John Masters Organics will now be introduced to a much larger audience of consumers. The benefit for ULTA is a partnership with a company that appeals to the organic products consumer.
