Analysts On UA

OTR Global commented on the apparel sales noting they were:

“below plan for 5 of 6 sources…on delivery delays” and “poor weather.” Analysts said U.S.. 2Q15 footwear sales more mixed and the brand has been “held up by excellent demand for Curry basketball shoes but offset by disappointing demand for sport slides, running shoes.”

Piper Jaffray analyst, Erinn Murphy,  who still maintains her bullish sentiment, noted:

“We remain OW shares of UA and continue to believe it is one of the best ways to play growth in our universe as it is benefiting from an overarching health & wellness megatrend. In this note, we revisit some of our themes we highlighted in our recent industry wearable technology white paper. During our April 2015 Teen Survey, we asked teens to comment on their fitness app preferences. To wit, 19% of teens use a fitness app. More importantly, consolidated UA share is the No. 1 preferred fitness app, followed closely by Nike. We believe these results speak to the longer-term digital opportunity. Separately, UA will report Q2 on 7/23. Q2 is smallest quarter of the year and while we are expecting strong results, we would recommend new money to revisit the name post the quarter given the recent stock price action.”
