Morning Notes
US Futures are flat and European stocks are lower in early trading. Markets remain volatile following a partial US government shutdown that started on Friday night. The US markets will close at 1 PM Est. today for Christmas Eve and will be closed all day tomorrow for Christmas Day. Regular hours begin again on Wednesday. Asian markets settled the session mostly lower.
Technicals
The SPY continued its decline in Friday’s session trading down to the 240 support level on volume. Support is first found at $236, followed by $232 and $228. Resistance first lies at $240.5, 242, $245, $248, followed by $250, $253, $254.50, $260, then $263. It continues with the 20EMA at $260.77, $265, $268, $270 and the 200SMA and $275.5 confluence.
