This week, I had the exhilarating experience of witnessing a stock in my portfolio skyrocket by over 1,200%, a testament to the unpredictable yet thrilling nature of the market. This journey, starting in the early hours before dawn and culminating in significant gains, is a vivid reminder of why I’m passionate about trading. Let me walk you through one of my most memorable trading days, from the initial scans to the final bell.
The Early Bird Catches the Worm
My day started as usual, with the predawn tranquility serving as the perfect backdrop for reviewing my Gap scans. The anticipation of what the market might offer is always palpable. This particular morning, my scans revealed a vibrant scene – five stocks had gapped up by over 100%, and eight were up by more than 50%. This was a clear indication that the momentum from the previous days was set to continue. Despite a slight reservation fueled by the previous day’s mixed results, the trader in me knew this was not a day to sit on the sidelines.
The First Moves of the Day
The action kicked off with BREA, a stock that made its move post-market the previous day. After an initial surge, it experienced a series of ups and downs, but by 7 AM, it was ready to make its mark. My first trade didn’t go as smoothly as I hoped; I found myself in a bit of a precarious situation with a potential loss looming. However, the market’s momentum was on my side, and BREA rallied, turning my initial anxiety into a splendid $5600 gain. This rollercoaster start was a vivid reminder of the market’s unpredictability.
The Unpredictable Nature of Trading
Following the high of my first trade, I ventured into trading COGT and HCTI, with varied results. COGT was a tough pill to swallow, resulting in a loss, while HCTI brought me back over the $5,000 mark for the day. Trading is a balance of highs and lows, and today was no exception. Each trade brought with it lessons and reminders of the importance of discipline and strategy.
The Star of the Show: DTSS
The turning point of the day came with DTSS. This stock caught my attention early on and didn’t disappoint. Starting with cautious trades that quickly ramped up in aggression, DTSS soared from $5 to beyond $20 a share, turning each move into a calculated opportunity for profit. My strategy of adding on the dips and capitalizing on the momentum brought substantial gains, with DTSS alone contributing a significant portion of my day’s profits.
