Reginald Fowler of Crypto Capital in custody

A former NFL lineman seems to be in quite a bit of hot water, and today we have reports that his attorneys are fading back – away from maintaining representation in a crypto kingpin case with alarming ramifications for defendants.

Lawyers for Reginald Fowler, previously of the Arizona Wranglers, are suggesting that they need to terminate their relationship with their client, citing unspecified reasons due to client-attorney privilege.

While we don’t know what’s behind the sudden shuffle, we do know that Fowler has been implicated in quite a crypto banking scheme!

After a year with the short-lived Arizona NFL team, Fowler retired from the NFL and started investing. First, he invested in the Minnesota Vikings. Then he started investing in real estate. Then he discovered crypto…

Reggie Fowler ended up along with Ravid Yosef involved in none other than Crypto Capital, a crypto investment firm, and that’s where it gets tricky.

We reported earlier this year on the Bitfinex exchange getting slammed for losing $850 million, which it allegedly made up for, inappropiately, with Tether funds.

The key here is that the $850 million apparently went to Crypto Capital, and now regulators and investigators are looking into that rather intensely.

At press time, Fowler is in custody, and Yosef is still on the lam. Here’s how Medium blogger Cas Piancey describes Fowler’s erstwhile partner:

“Ravid is a well-traveled, well-spoken, and confident Israeli. Her hair is long and curly, she’s boisterous, and when she gives you advice, it almost sounds like she knows what she’s talking about. At first glance, she’s a jack of all trades, master of none. The topic she broaches the most, however, is helping people struggling to find meaningful relationships.”

Keep an eye on this case as the Bitfinex fiasco takes its next river turn.
